
Golf continues fall at VCU Shootout

DAYTON – The Wright State golf team heads back southeast for tournament action at the VCU Shootout at The Country Club of Virginia on Monday and Tuesday. Action gets underway with 36 holes on Monday before the final round on Tuesday.

Both days feature shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m., with the Raiders all teeing off together at 8:30 a.m. from holes five, six and seven to get things started on Monday. Tuesday's final round tee times will be announced following the opening 36 holes.

The Raiders are coming off a fifth-place team finish at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, with Mikkel Mathiesen and Shane Ochs leading the way individually at six-under.

The Country Club of Virginia will play as a 6,920-yard, par 72 course and will have 15 teams vying for the team championship: host VCU, Appalachian State, Boston College, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Davidson, FAU, George Washington, James Madison, Lipscomb, Northern Illinois, Richmond, Stetson, Toledo and the Raiders.

Following action this week in Virginia, Wright State will wrap up its fall schedule closer to home in the coming weeks, first at the Virtues Intercollegiate in Nashport, Ohio and then with the Dayton Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club.
