Raiders ready for Valentine's Night contest

DAYTON — The Wright State women's basketball team continues its homestand inside the Nutter Center on Wednesday night when the Raiders welcome Youngstown State for a Valentine's Night contest. Wednesday's game is set for a 7 p.m. tipoff and fans can keep up with the action by watching on ESPN+ or following live stats.

LAST TIME OUT
A fourth quarter push lifted Wright State team to a 70-66 home victory over Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday afternoon, moving the Raiders into third place in the Horizon League standings. Alexis Hutchison scored 14 of her team-leading 22 points in the second half as she shot 50 percent from the floor and added six rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists, while Rachel Loobie tallied the afternoon's lone double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds – notching six points and five rebounds in the fourth quarter while adding a 6-of-6 mark at the free throw line.

With three weeks remaining in the regular season, Wright State enters Wednesday's contest sitting in third place in the Horizon League standings with a 9-6 Horizon League record. The Raiders are looking up at Cleveland State and Green Bay, who both currently are 12-2 in HL action, and are one game up in the win column from Purdue Fort Wayne (8-6), Detroit Mercy and Milwaukee (both 8-7) and two wins ahead of Wednesday's opponent, Youngstown State (7-8). As the standings currently sit, the Raiders closest foes in terms of the standings over their final five regular season contests are home against Youngstown State (7-8) on Wednesday and at Detroit Mercy (8-7) in the regular season finale on March 2.
