Sarka Matches Season Best in Loss to Milwaukee

DAYTON — The Wright State women's soccer team is now 0-1-1 in the Horizon League after falling 3-0 to Milwaukee Sunday afternoon. The Raiders will play again next Sunday as they host Cleveland State.
 
The Raiders (2-6-1, 0-1-1 HL) ended the day with eight shots, being bested by MKE's (3-6-1, 2-0-0 HL) 22 shots. Wright State recorded ten saves to the Panther's four. Leading the way for WSU was Samara Nunn, putting up two shots with one on target. Goalkeeper Kiera Sarka added seven saves, matching her season best from August 15 at Illinois. Erin Baker logged 26 minutes, recording two saves.
 
Wright State had 24 players compete in the conference matchup, including 13 underclassmen. Defender Kaylee Pham logged 86 minutes of play, followed by Olivia Mace with 77 minutes and Elise Canter with 75.
 
The Panthers were up by one at the half, scoring in the 32nd minute on a penalty kick. WSU recorded six shots in the first 45 minutes, with four on goal. The Raider's first shot on target came from Nunn in the sixth minute, followed by Mace in the eighth minute and Hartmann in the tenth. Elise Canter added the fourth shot on goal of the half in the 12th minute. Allison Charleston added a shot in the 12th minute that just barely missed the crossbar. WSU's final shot of the half came from Ainsley Terada in the 30th minute.
 
Wright State recorded only two shots in the second half, the first coming from Nunn in the 65th minute. Olivia Stroud added the next in the 81st minute. MKE raised their advantage, finding the back of the net in the 61st minute, further securing the win with another goal in the 74th minute.
