Bowling sits atop standings after opening day action

ERIE, PA – The Wright State bowling team opened play at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Saturday, going 3-2 in the first day of action to sit atop the eight-team field.

Sunday action begins at 9 a.m. and features four Baker games before a best-of-seven Baker finale match.
 
The Raiders finished with a 4,753 total pinfall on Saturday with a 190.1 average game score, tallying wins over William Smith (1,008-855), PSU Behrend (1,049-806) and Daemen (949-897) while dropping close contests to Roberts Wesleyan (901-881) and Niagara (969-911).
 
The Raiders were led by Alli Shattuck, who averaged a 214.00 and had a total pinfall of 1,070 to lead all individuals on Friday. She was followed by teammate Mia Sayles in second individually with a 212.20 average and 1,061 total pinfall. Behind that pair were Jasmine Schulze in 12th with a 181.80 game average, while Kylie Fisher (26th, 177.50 average) and Addy Meshew (28th, 170.50 average) were also inside the Top 30 individually.
