Volleyball Welcomes Trio on National Signing Day

DAYTON – Wright State volleyball coach Travers Green has announced the signing of three players this afternoon to Athletics Aid Agreements to attend Wright State University and join the Raider program beginning next fall.

The newest Raiders are Ali Hayes, Abbey Knight and Khalia Lawrence.

"We are very excited to announce our 2027 signing class," said Green. "Ali, Abbey and Khalia are all finishing successful high school seasons and bring a competitive drive that will have an immediate impact on our program. Each of them adds something unique to our gym, and we're confident they will help elevate our culture both on and off the court. Our staff has really enjoyed getting to know this group and we're thrilled they've chosen to be part of the Wright State Volleyball."

Ali Hayes
Position: Outside Hitter
Hometown: Plain City, OH
High School: Alder High School
Club Program: Mintonette
Notes: Named Central Buckeye Conference Player of the Year, Central District Player of the Year and a First Team All-Ohio performer as a senior… A OHSVCA State All Star March Participant… Led Alder to a 24-3 record as they made the Elite 8 this season… Alder was Central Buckeye Conference and Central District champions in 2025… Graduates as all-time kill leader at Alder High School and also holds the school record for most kills in a match… A three-time first team All-Conference and first team Central District selection… Also earned All-Ohio third team and honorable mention recognition in her prep career.

Abbey Knight
Position: Right Side / Outside Hitter
Hometown: New Lenox, IL
High School: Providence Catholic High School
Club Program: Sports Performance
Notes: Named GCAC Player of the Year as a sophomore and a senior… Team captain… Earned Team MVP honors as a senior… A three-time All-Conference selection… An IHSA First Team All-State honoree as a junior and senior.

Khalia Lawrence
Position: Middle Blocker
Hometown: Troy, OH
High School: Miami East High School
Club Program: Elite
Notes: A three-time first team All-Conference selection after earning second team honors as a freshman… Also three-time first team All-Conference and first team District selection and the Three Rivers Conference Player of the Year as a senior… A team captain as a senior, she also earned All-Ohio second team recognition… Led Miami East in kills, blocks and hitting percentage as a senior.
