DAYTON — Winners of six of the last seven regular season Horizon League championships with five NCAA tournament appearances, the Wright State volleyball program and head coach Travers Green announced its 2026 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The schedule includes the Raiders opening the season at home in back-to-back weekends to kick off the campaign, along with eight conference matchups inside McLin Gymnasium.
Â
"We're excited about the schedule we've put together for the 2026 season," Green said. "Our non-conference schedule features several strong mid-major opponents that will challenge us and help prepare our team for Horizon League play. We're also looking forward to hosting two non-conference weekends this fall, which will give our fans an opportunity to see and support the Raiders early in the season. We can't wait to get started and compete this fall."
Â
The Raiders will travel to Cincinnati and Miami (OH) for a pair of exhibition matches ahead of the season, which features 13 total home games for the defending Horizon League champs.
Â
Wright State officially gets the season underway at home on August 28 and 29 when they will then share hosting duties in the Flyer-Raider Invitational against Santa Clara, Eastern Illinois and Marquette. The Raiders will then host the annual Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Invitational the next weekend, with matches against Western Kentucky, Ball State and Dayton as part of the action on September 4-6.
Â
The Raiders wrap up non-conference action the next two weekends, first traveling to Pittsburgh to face off against High Point, Jacksonville and host Pitt September 11-13 before a pair of matches in Michigan on September 18 and 19 against Drake and host Michigan State.
Â
The Horizon League scheduling model remains largely the same from previous seasons, with conference opponents playing each other on back-to-back dates on Fridays and Saturdays at one location, with a few outlier weeks.
Â
The Raiders begin Horizon League play with a pair of home contests against HL newcomer Northern Illinois in late September before going on the road to open October at Oakland and Cleveland State on back-to-back nights. Wright State then hosts four of its next six matches in October, welcoming Green Bay, Northern Kentucky and Robert Morris to McLin while traveling to IU Indy on October 16 and 17. Wright State then closes the regular season with four of its final six matches away from home, traveling to Purdue Fort Wayne and Northern Kentucky for solo matches along with a trek to Milwaukee, while hosting Youngstown State on October 30 and closing the regular season slate on November 14 at home against Purdue Fort Wayne.
Â
The Horizon League Championship will take place November 19-22 at the site of the regular season champion. The Raiders and McLin Gymnasium have recently taken on hosting duties for the 2019, Spring 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 championships.
