DAYTON – The Wright State men's basketball team saw six players finish with double-digit scoring nights as the Raiders rolled to an 100-47 victory over Ohio Wesleyan inside the Nutter Center.
Wright State (3-3) now gets set for a busy upcoming week, beginning with a trip to Florida to take on Stetson on Tuesday night before a visit with former Horizon League foe Butler next Friday afternoon. On Thursday, the Raiders used a 23-7 run midway through the first half to stake themselves to the large margin, with
Alex Bruskotter scoring 10 of his career-best 15 points in the opening 20 minutes to lead Wright State in scoring at the break, while the Raiders shot 67 percent overall in the first half with just three turnovers. Wright State used an 18-4 run over a five-minute stretch in the second half to stretch the advantage and cruise to the final score.
Andrea Holden tallied nine of his game-high 16 points in the second half as he finished the night shooting 7-of-8 overall with five rebounds and a pair of blocks, joining Bruskotter with a career-high scoring night. Bruskotter ended the night with a trio of three-pointers and a 5-of-8 shooting mark over all on the way to his 15 points while
Michael Imariagbe turned in a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a pair of blocks.
Logan Woods and
Kellen Pickett each tallied 12 points, with Pickett setting a new career mark, as
Ayden Davis notched 10 of his 11 points over the final 20 minutes as the final Raider with double figures scoring.
Wright State ended the win with a 64 percent overall shooting mark with 18 assists while connecting on 7-of-19 three-pointers (37 percent) as the Raiders held Ohio Wesleyan to 34 percent overall shooting with a 21 percent mark (5-of-24) from deep. The Raiders finished with a 39-17 advantage on the glass as they forced Ohio Wesleyan into 16 turnovers that resulted in 25 Wright State points.
Peyton Frey led 11 Ohio Wesleyan players in scoring with nine points, while Jessee Battle had six points as 18 players saw action for the visitors in the game.
