Raiders Come Up Short of Air Force Saturday

BOCA RATON, FL- The Wright State women's basketball team came up just short of Air Force Saturday afternoon in Florida, falling 49-59
The Raiders (4-5) will be back in action on Wednesday, December 3, as they host Oakland to kick off Horizon League play. Tip-off in the Nutter Center is set for 7 p.m.
Breezie Williams (16) and Claire Henson (11) finished with double-digit points for the second straight game. Henson led the Raiders in rebounds for the second straight game with eight, followed by Grace Okih with six. Wright State had six different players dish out its seven assists.
The first quarter was tightly contested with the Air Force holding a narrow 12-11 lead after the first 10 minutes. Claire Henson hit the first layup before the Falcons went on a 12-0 run in the middle of the second Quarter to jump out to an 11-point lead. Air Force maintained that 11-point lead into the halftime break.
Wright State cut into the Air Force lead throughout the second half, getting it down to six points multiple times and as low as five points in the fourth quarter. Milahnie Perry paced the Air Force offense with 19 points, followed by Jayda McNabb with 13. Williams scored 12 points in the final 20 minutes, knocking down four three-pointers.
In the box score, Wright State trailed Air Force in points in the paint (22-28), points off turnovers (4-11), second chance points (3-4), and bench points (5-12). The Falcons outshot the Raiders from the floor (37.3-28.8) but trailed in three-point percentage (21.4-24).
