Raiders roll in season opener behind four in double figures scoring

DAYTON – The Wright State men's basketball team opened its 2025-26 campaign on Monday night with four double-digit scorers as the Raiders rolled to an 86-37 victory over Franklin College inside the Nutter Center.

Wright State (1-0) now travels across the country for a Thursday night matchup at Cal, with tipoff set for 10 p.m. ET on ACC Network Extra. Fans can also follow the action via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network - 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Justin Kinner will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.

On Monday, the Raiders scored the night's first 11 points before Franklin's first basket came after the opening media timeout, later pushing the margin to 21 points at 26-5 before the under-eight timeout, with Franklin reaching double digits thanks to a three-pointer with just over two minutes to play before the break.

Nine different Raiders scored in the opening half and 10 Raiders had grabbed a rebound after 20 minutes, with Wright State beginning the second half on a 25-0 run before finally allowing Franklin's first second halve basket at the 10:07 mark.

Michael Imariagbe finished with a game-high 13 points for Wright State as he added four rebounds, an assist and a block in just 16 minutes of action, while Alex Bruskotter had 11 points off the bench thanks in part to a trio of three pointers as he added three rebounds and two steals. Michael Cooper and Logan Woods each tallied 10 points, with Woods passing out five assists with three rebounds and a pair of steals and Cooper adding six boards and two assists. Sam Alamutu had a complete stat line in his Wright State debut, turning in nine points, five rebounds, five steals and two assists, while Byan Etumnu had seven points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in his first Raider game and TJ Burch dished out nine assists.

Wright State shot 49.3 percent (35-of-71) from the floor overall while connecting on 7-of-20 from deep (35.0 percent). Defensively, the Raiders held Franklin to just seven made field goals in both halves, with the visitors finishing with a 31.1 percent (14-of-45) shooting line and a 4-of-15 mark from three-point range (26.7 percent). The Raiders grabbed 52 total rebounds and passed out 27 assists on those 35 made baskets while forcing Franklin into 25 turnovers as Wright State tallied 19 steals.

Rohan Pearson finished with nine points and three rebounds, while Justin Harrington added six points for Franklin in the loss.
