SMYRNA, TN – The No. 21 Wright State bowling team rolled a pair of best-of-seven baker matches and grabbed a traditional game win to finish the Columbia 300 Music City Classic on Sunday to finish the tournament 15th in the 31-team field.
The Raiders began the say with a 849-816 traditional game victory over Alabama A&M to set up bracket play. They opened with a six-game victory over Oklahoma Christian, with Wright State taking sets two and three for the early advantage before Oklahoma Christian knotted things up with a fourth set win. The Raiders pulled out a narrow, 173-170 fifth set win and then grabbed the sixth set by 29 pins to advance.
Wright State then faced off with UAB, with the Raiders taking the opening set before UAB responded with wins in sets two and three. The Raiders grabbed a 224-215 fourth set win to tie the matchup, only to see UAB take the fifth and sixth sets to advance and wrap up Wright State's weekend.
The Raiders finished the weekend with a total pinfall of 10,053 for a 182.8 average game score, with
Allison Shattuck finishing in 56th individually with a 185.17 average, followed by
Rylie Jeanneret (86th, 167.50) and
Mia Sayles (117th, 188.75).
