Three in double figures not enough as Raiders fall in HL Quarterfinals

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA – The Wright State men's basketball team cut top-seeded Robert Morris' lead to seven points with just under eight minutes remaining on Thursday night, but the Raiders never got any closer down the stretch, falling 83-62 to end the season in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Barbasol Horizon League Championship.

No. 9-seeded Wright State finishes the season 15-18 overall, while No. 1 Robert Morris moves to 24-8 and onto Indianapolis for the semifinals.

The Raiders used a 10-3 scoring run over two minutes to get the margin to seven at 64-57, but Robert Morris answered with a run of its own, tallying the next 11 points to regain control down the stretch. Wright State rolled off a 16-4 run early in the night to lead 18-8 at the under-12 media timeout, with RMU responding with a 17-4 streak to pull back into the half before the hosts took a 41-31 lead into the locker room.

Brandon Noel and Michael Imariagbe each finished with 15 points to lead Wright State after both had six points at the break. Noel went 7-of-14 from the floor with three assists, two rebounds and a steal, while Imariagbe connected on 7-of-8 shots and added two rebounds, two blocks and a steal of his own. Alex Huibregtse had a trio of three-pointers on the way to 13 points as the final Raider in double figures, while Solomon Callaghan notched nine points of his own.

Jack Doumbia and Andrea Holden both chipped in four points and Logan Woods had a bucket, while Keaton Norris grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Wright State finished the night shooting 48 percent overall (27-of-56) and was 5-of-22 (23 percent) from three-point range, just the sixth time this season they hit five or less three-pointers. Robert Morris hit 47 percent of its shots (27-of-57) and was 10-of-29 three-point attempts (35 percent), including seven from deep in the second half. RMU was 19-of-28 (68 percent) at the free throw line, while the Raiders went to line just three times, connecting on all three.

Robert Morris had five players in double figures that combined for all but 12 of its scoring output, led by Kam Woods' 19 points and a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double from Alvaro Folgueiras.
