DAYTON – Wright State baseball's JP Peltier has been named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators. The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Peltier advances to the national ballot as a finalist for CSC Academic All-America honors.
Â
Earlier this spring, Peltier also earned his first Horizon League All-Academic Team recognition. The Vandalia, Ohio, native is pursuing a degree in Marketing and holds a 3.867 cumulative GPA. A three-time Dean's List honoree (including two with highest honors), he has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll in every semester of eligibility.
Â
Peltier does not only excel in the classroom, but on the field as well. He was named to the HL All-League First Team in May, earned HL Batter of the Week honors on March 18, and was named Joe Nuxhall Classic MVP after hitting a walk-off home run against Xavier on April 9.
Â
The sophomore outfielder appeared in all but one game this season, starting 59 contests. He finished the year batting .303 with 71 hits, ranking third in the Horizon League and No. 20 nationally with 20 home runs. His 69 RBI were tied for second-most in the league and ranked in the top 50 nationally. He also ranked fourth in the league in stolen bases (24) and third in total bases (147). In league-only play, Peltier ranked third in slugging (.752), second in RBIs (42), and third in home runs (11).
