Five in double figures as Raiders down Milwaukee

DAYTON – The Wright State men's basketball team closed Thursday afternoon with seven of the final nine points as the Raiders won their third-straight contest with a 79-70 victory over visiting Milwaukee in Horizon League action.

Wright State (8-7, 3-1 Horizon) took a double-digit lead into the break after a 23-3 first half run before Milwaukee (7-8, 3-1 Horizon) chipped away in the second half. The visitors got the margin to three at 47-44 with 12:54 to play before the Raiders pushed the lead back to multiple possessions. Another Milwaukee run cut the Raider lead to one at 69-68 with 2:26 to play, but Wright State closed the game with the 7-2 run that included a perfect 3-of-3 mark at the free throw line.
Wright State is back in action Sunday night as the Raiders hit the road for the first time in 2026 with a visit to take on IU Indy. Sunday's game is set for a 2 p.m. tipoff, and fans can follow the action several ways – on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network – 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play action on the radio feed.

Michael Imariagbe finished with a game-high 17 points, matching his season-best scoring output, to pace five Raiders in double figures. Imariagbe tallied 11 of his 17 points in the second half as he went 9-of-10 at the free throw stripe while grabbing four rebounds with one assist, one steal and a block in 26 minutes of action. Kellen Pickett notched his first collegiate double-double with 11 points and a career-best 10 rebounds while adding two blocks.

TJ Burch scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half, filling his stat line with four rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Dominic Pangonis had 13 points and seven rebounds while Solomon Callaghan added 11 points, five rebounds and three assists in his return to the starting lineup.

Wright State finished the win shooting 43 percent overall (25-of-58) with five three-pointers, all of which came in the first half (5-of-16, 31 percent). The Raiders got to the free throw line 25 times, going 84 percent at the stripe – connecting on their highest percentage and total makes (21) of the season to date. Milwaukee connected at 45 percent overall (29-of-65) and hit five three-pointers (5-of-14, 36 percent), including four in the second half as the visitors made their late comeback attempt. Milwaukee was 64 percent at the free throw line, but only went to the stripe 11 times on the afternoon (7-of-11).

The Raiders grabbed a 41-33 rebounding edge, including 28 boards on the defensive glass, while their 13 offensive rebounds led to 15 second chance points. Wright State finished with seven blocks, its most in a game since swatting eight at Green Bay last February.

Danilo Jovanovich led Milwaukee with a 15-point, 10-rebound effort, while Isaiah Dorceus added 13 points and Amar Augillard finished with 12 points in the loss for the visitors.
