Men's Basketball takes five-game winning streak into national televised contest

DAYTON -Â The Wright State men's basketball team plays in front of the national audience for the first time this season on Sunday as the Raiders take their five-game winning streak into an afternoon matchup at Oakland. Sunday's tipoff is set for 3Â p.m., and fans can follow the action several ways - watching on ESPN2, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network - 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.
Fans can tune into 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' or WING 1410 AM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. The iHeartRadio app, the TuneIn Radio app and the Audacy app are all FREE and each carry both stations. After taking a double-digit lead into the halftime break, Wright State battled second half foul trouble to run its winning streak to five straight games as the Raiders came away with an 84-82 Friday night road victory over Detroit Mercy in Horizon League action. Andrea Holden led five Raiders in double figures with a career-high 17 points, including an 11-of-12 mark at the free throw line. Solomon Callaghan had 15 points and Logan Woods had 12 points as both tallied three three-pointers, while TJ Burch also finished with 12 points and Michal Imariagbe chipped in 10 points. Kellen Pickett added a game- and career-best 12 rebounds.
GONE STREAKING
Wright State has won five straight games entering Sunday, its longest streak since a a six-game winning streak in February and March 2022 to close the regular season, win the Horizon League tournament and NCAA First Four game.
OAKLAND ORIGINALS
Wright State and Oakland have met 34 times, with the Raiders leading the series 22-12. The teams first met back on Nov. 29, 1977 – a Raider victory – and the teams also met in Jan. 1979 and Dec. 1979 but then didn't face each other again until Dec. 2000. Wright State also handed Oakland a loss in the Golden Grizzlies' first-ever Horizon League contest, played Jan. 2, 2014 inside the Nutter Center. The Raiders won 88-73 at home on Dec. 29 in the first meeting, with Solomon Callaghan connecting on a career-best six three-pointers on his way to a 20-point night, while TJ Burch finished with 17 points and had six steals.
GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
- Oakland is 9-8 overall with a 5-1 mark in the Horizon League, coming off a 25-point Friday win over Cleveland State. Oakland is now 5-0 at home.
- Oakland has won three in a row since losing at Wright State on Dec. 29. Brody Robinson had 27 points, Tuburu Naivalurua scored 18 and Michael Houge finished with a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double for Oakland in the first meeting against the Raiders.

Wright State connected on a program-record 16 three-pointers the last time the Raiders faced Oakland at the OU Credit Union O'rena back on December 5, 2024. Five different Raiders connected on multiple triples on the way to the 16 total, including a then-career-best four from Solomon Callaghan and a pair from Logan Woods.
FREE THROW FRENZY
Wright State's final line at the free throw stripe at Detroit Mercy on Friday – 23-of-28 – marked the Raiders' most field goals made and attempted since going 26-of-34 in a 30-point win at Robert Morris in Feb. 2024. The Raiders were also 32-of-38 at the stripe earlier that season in Jan. 2024 at Cleveland State, albeit that game was an overtime win.
