Cross Country Releases 2026 Schedule

DAYTON- The Wright State cross country teams and head coach Rick Williamson released their schedule for the 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders will race in five regular-season meets, including a pair at home, before the 2026 Horizon League Championship and NCAA Regional meet.

Wright State's two regular-season home meets, held at the beginning and end of the regular season, will be held at Fairborn Community Park.

The Raiders open their 2026 campaign on September 4 at home in the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic. Wright State will then continue in September at the RMU Colonial Invitational (September 11), hosted by Robert Morris, to get a first look at the Horizon League Championship course. Wright State will open October with a pair of road meets traveling to Louisville, Kentucky, for the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic (October 3) and Bowling Green, Ohio, for the Falcon Invitational (October 16).

The Raiders close out the regular season hosting the Wild Bill Invite on October 23 for its second home meet of the year before traveling to the Horizon League Championship, hosted by Robert Morris, on October 31. The Raiders conclude the season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on November 13 in East Lansing, Michigan.

A season ago at the Horizon League Championship, the Wright State men finished sixth, and the Raider women finished 11th overall. Patrick Statzer turned in a time of 24:38.6 on the way to his 21st-place mark, shaving more than a minute off his finishing time at the 2024 HL Championship, where he also led the Raider men. Shelby Hept led the Wright State women in the women's 6k race, finishing 32nd with her 22:18.6 time.
