
Scohy Tied for Lead After 36 Holes

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Sophomore CJ Scohy sits atop the individual leader board after a strong opening day Monday as the Wright State golf team completed the first 36 holes of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational at Guyan Golf & Country Club.
Scohy carded rounds of 67 and 68 on the par-71 layout to finish the day at 7-under 135, earning a share of the individual lead entering Tuesday's final round.
After opening with a 4-under 67, Scohy followed with a 3-under 68 in the afternoon. The sophomore enjoyed a bogey-free opening round and carded five birdies against two bogeys in his second 18.
As a team, Wright State finished Monday in ninth place at 3-over. The Raiders are just two shots behind eighth-place Loyola Chicago and five shots back of seventh-place Morehead State heading into the final 18 holes.
Jake Wittenauer gave the Raiders a second player inside the top-25, finishing the opening day tied for 25th at 1-under. Wittenauer opened with a 1-under 70 before shooting an even-par 71 in Monday's second round.
Aiden Standifer is tied for 42nd at 2-over after matching rounds of 72. Standifer played his final nine holes of Monday's second round in 1-under to close the day strong entering Tuesday's final round.
Wright State also has a pair of individuals competing in the event. Landon Harris is tied for 62nd at 5-over after improving five shots from an opening-round 76 to an even-par 71 in the second round.Â
Murray State leads the 14-team field at 15-under, four shots ahead of Youngstown State. Host Marshall is third at 9-under, while Eastern Kentucky, Bellarmine and Purdue Fort Wayne are tied for fourth at 8-under.
The Raiders return to Guyan Golf & Country Club for Tuesday's final 18 holes, with Scohy looking to secure the individual title and Wright State positioned to make a move up the team leader board.
