Raiders Third, Harris Fourth at Ball State Invite

MUNCIE, IN —Landon Harris fired a 2-under-par 68 Sunday to secure a fourth place finish for himself and the team finished third as the Wright State men's golf team closed the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational with a 1-over 281 at Delaware Country Club.
The Raiders improved six strokes from their second round and completed the tournament at eight-over, tops amongst the five Horizon League squads in the field.
Harris saved his best round for Sunday, collecting six birdies to finish three-under par. He got off to a hot start with birdies on two, three and four and added another nine to make the turn at 3 under.Two more birdies on the back nine helped him secure his second round in the 60s of the weekend.
CJ Scohy closed with a 1-over 71, putting him in a tie for 10th . Max Clarke delivered an even-par 70 Sunday, improving five strokes from his second round to finish at 6-over. Jake Wittenauer added a 72 to finish seven-over par, completing Wright State's four counting scores in the final round.
Aiden Standifer rounded out the lineup with a 73 and finished at 10-over par while Jack Ward, competing as an individual, carded a closing 74 to finish nine-over for the tourney.
The Raiders return to the Buckeye State for their next fall tournament, the Moraine Intercollegiate, October 12th and 13th at Moraine Country Club in Kettering.
ROUNDS 1 AND 2
Landon Harris finished 36 holes on Saturday at 1 under par to lead the Wright State men's golf team through the first two rounds of the Ball State Earl Yestingmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club.
The Raiders followed an even-par opening round of 280 with a 287 in the second round. At plus-seven, the Raiders are fourth across the 16-team field entering Sunday's final round.
Harris opened with a 1-under 69 before adding an even-par 70 during Saturday's nightcap. He recorded birdies on 9 and 15 in the second round and played the back nine without a bogey.
CJ Scohy finished one stroke behind Harris at even-par, pairing an opening-round 69 with a 71. Scohy's five birdies in the first round helped Wright State share the early team lead with Butler and Central Michigan.
Jake Wittenauer posted rounds of 71 and 74, while Max Clarke followed a 71 with a 75. Aiden Standifer improved three strokes in the afternoon, shooting a 72 after an opening 75. Standifer's second-round score joined those of Harris, Scohy and Wittenauer in the Raiders' team total.
Jack Ward, competing as an individual, joined Wittenauer with carded rounds of 71 and 74. Wright State returns to Delaware Country Club on Sunday for the tournament's final round as they look to chase down Butler, who at five-under has a two-shot tourney lead over host Ball State.
