Jordan Redd began coaching with the Wright State cross country and track programs in March 2018. Primarily helping with the men’s and women’s distance athletes, Redd has served as volunteer assistant and specializes in steeplechase.
The 2018 outdoor season saw the women place 4th at the Horizon League Championships. Individually, the season was a success as two school records (800m, 3000m Steeple) were broken as well as two individual conference champions in both respective events. Redd worked primarily with the steeplechasers and the women would end up placing 1st, 2nd, 4th in the event at Horizon that year.
In his first season helping with the cross country program, the women finished runner up at the Horizon League Championships while the men placed 7th.
Redd, an Ohio native, attended The Ohio State University where he competed with the track and cross country teams from 2012-17. During his time at OSU he garnered Big Ten Runner of the Week honors while competing in cross and in the 3000m steeplechase on the track. He graduated from OSU in 2017 with two bachelor’s degrees (History & Russian) and is currently in graduate school.
