As a third baseman for the Raiders, Fred Blair was an All-American selection in 1982. He was also a two-time All-District selection in 1981 and 1982.
Blair still holds several records, including highest career batting average with .408, and highest career slugging percentage at .736. His 33 career home runs rank third all-time, and his 151 runs batted in rank fifth.
Blair’s name can be seen in the top ten on several season-high record lists, including second in batting average (.471 in 1982), first and second in slugging percentage (.850 in 1982 and .759 in 1981), first in on base percentage (.584 in 1982), fourth in home runs (14 in 1981), and fourth in RBIs (67 in 1982).
Drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 1983 Major League Baseball draft, Blair spent two seasons in their Minor League system.
