Golf Wins Xavier Invitational
The Wright State golf team posted a tournament record team score while senior Jesse Hutchins also set a new tournament low as the Raiders claimed the title at the 2002 Xavier Provident Invitational Tuesday in Mason.
The Raiders carded a 1-over 853 for three rounds on the Grizzly Tournament Course at The Golf Center at Kings Island. That breaks the record for the tournament of 854 that was set last year by Western Kentucky.
Hutchins was the individual champion of the tournament thanks to a 7-under 64 in the final round. He finished with a record three-round score of 12-under 201.
The next action for the WSU golf team will be the Catamount Classic October 28-29 in Cullowhee, NC.
