Raiders part of the pack after 18 holes at the NCAA Columbus Regional

COLUMBUS, OH – The Wright State golf team is right in the middle of a pack of teams after the opening round of the NCAA Columbus Regional on Monday, with the Raiders tied for seventh as a group with a pair of players inside the Top 20.

Second round action from the OSU Golf Club - Scarlet Course will get underway at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, with Wright State teeing off 8:25-9:09 a.m. off the first tee.

Admission and parking are free for spectators to come follow the Raiders during regional action.

Wright State is 12-over after the opening round, tied with No. 48 California and two shots back of No. 11 Arizona State. Florida, the No. 2 team in the country, is the lone group under par, leading the way at seven-under. The Raiders' current positioning sits ahead of No. 23 Long Beach State and No. 38 South Carolina, both at 14-over, as well as No. 35 Utah, who is 16-over after 18 holes.

Individually, Shane Ochs paces the Raiders at one-over in a tie for 11th after his opening round 72 that featured three birdies and four bogeys. Adam Horn is a shot back at two-over in a tie for 20th after carding a 73 that saw two birdies and four bogeys, while Timmy Hollenbeck (+4, t42nd) and Ian Asch (+5, t55th) both navigated around early round double bogeys to card scores of 75 and 76. CJ Scohy (+7, t67th) worked through eight bogeys but ended the day with a birdie on the 18th on the way to his 78.

Wright State's 4.15 average score on par fours (+8) was the second-best among the field on Monday behind only team leader Florida (4.11, +6) while the Raiders carded 55 total pars, the fourth-most in the field.
