
Women Fall at Missouri

The Wright State women's basketball team hung close with Missouri for the first 26 minutes before the Tigers pulled away for a 92-62 win Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
The score was tied three times in the first half, the final time at 15 on two Sarah Hunter free throws at the 11:08 mark, before Missouri used a 15-5 run to go up 30-20 with 5:11 remaining in the period. The margin was 12 until Molly Fox closed out the half with a layup and two foul shots to make it 37-29 at the break.
Missouri shot 43 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes compared to 29 percent for WSU, but the Raiders countered by hitting nine of 13 free throws while the Tigers were just two for two.
Another Fox basket made it 47-40 with 14:27 to play, but Missouri followed with nine unanswered points to break the game open. Wright State would get no closer than 14 the rest of the way.
The Tigers shot 54 percent in the second half to finish at 49 percent overall, including 13 of 26 from three-point range, while the Raiders shot 33 percent for the contest, six for 18 from behind the arc. Missouri also led 38-22 in points in the paint.
Kim Demmings led WSU with 17 points while Fox had a near double-double of 14 points and nine rebounds and Courtney Boyd chipped in 11.
Christine Flores paced all scorers with 26 for Missouri (5-0), 22 of those coming after halftime, while BreAnna Brock posted a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Wright State (3-1) continues its five-game road swing on Wednesday, November 30, as the Raiders visit Buffalo in a rematch of last year's first round game of the Women's Basketball Invitational. Game time is noon.
