Jenni Dant, who served as an assistant coach the last two seasons at UIC, has been named the administrative assistant for the Wright State women's basketball program, head coach Mike Bradbury announced on Monday.
A 2005 DePaul graduate, Dant is currently seventh on the Blue Demons' all-time scoring list with 1,633 points. She earned All-Conference USA accolades three times as well as C-USA All-Freshman Team honors as she averaged 13.4 points per game for her career. Dant was then drafted by the WNBA's Houston Comets before embarking on a professional career in Europe.
A Chicago native, Dant was a Parade All-American and all-state selection at Stevenson High School.
"I'm excited to have Jenni join the Raider basketball family," said Bradbury. "Her experience as a player at DePaul as well as her 2 years of coaching at UIC will provide even more experience to our staff."
Wright State posted one of its best seasons ever in 2010-11, winning 20 games for the first time as a Division I member and advancing to its first Division I postseason tournament as the Raiders defeated Buffalo in the Women's Basketball Invitational before falling to Manhattan. WSU also set school records for three-pointers in a game with 13 against Valparaiso on January 8 and in a season with 227.
