Baseball Drops Series Opener at Valparaiso
4/26/2013 4:00:00 AM | Baseball
The Wright State baseball team opened the scoring with a run in the first, but that turned out to be only run of the day for the Raiders as Valparaiso won 5-1 Friday at Emory G. Bauer Field.
After Kieston Greene reached second on an error to start the game, he moved to up third on a Michael Timm ground out and scored on a Kody Krizman hit down the left field line.
The Crusaders, however, answered right back with three in the bottom of the first, the big blow being a two-run home run by Chris Manning, and added single runs in the third and sixth.
Greene had two hits, including a double, for Wright State (18-19, 6-7 Horizon), which continues the series against Valparaiso with a single game Saturday starting at 2:00 Eastern.
