
Three Named to All-Horizon League Baseball Teams

Three Wright State players were recognized as the baseball All-Horizon League teams were announced Tuesday afternoon.? Senior catcher Garrett Gray and junior outfielder Kieston Greene were both named to the First Team while Greene joined fellow junior outfielder Mark Fowler on the All-Newcomer Team.
Gray (Lewisburg, OH/Tri-County North) ranks ninth in the league with a .317 overall batting average, is tied for third in home runs with four, fifth in slugging percentage at .478, tied for fifth in doubles with 12, sixth in hits with 59 and 10th in runs batted in with 29.? During league play, Gray tied for sixth with a .333 batting average, tied for the lead with eight doubles, was fourth with a .564 slugging percentage and tied for seventh with 26 hits and 14 RBI.
A First Team All-Horizon League selection in 2010, Gray tied for the league lead in hits during a single game this season as he collected five in a win over Shawnee State on April 23.? He was chosen as the league's Batter of the Week on March 25 as he went six for 14 with six RBI in a home series against Valparaiso.
Greene (Decatur, IL/MacArthur) put together a solid first season as a Raider, ranking fourth in the league with a .335 batting average, second with a .503 slugging percentage and eighth with a .404 on-base percentage.? He was also tied for seventh with 34 runs scored and ninth with 56 hits.? In league play, Greene was fifth with a .341 average and sixth with a .512 slugging percentage as he also tied for fifth with 28 hits.
Named the Horizon League Batter of the Week on March 18, Greene collected four hits in the series opener at Penn State and the series finale at Missouri State and had three hits in games against Wilmington, Valparaiso, Youngstown State and UIC.?
Fowler (West Chester, OH/Lakota West), also in his first season at WSU, is seventh in the league with a .327 batting average and tied for eighth with 30 RBI.? He tied with Gray for second on the team with 17 multi-hit games, including three in driving in four against Wilmington on March 12.? Fowler is tied for the team lead with nine multi-RBI games and reached base safely in 14 straight games earlier this season, also tying for the team best.
Wright State (22-28, 9-12 Horizon) is the #4 seed for this week's Horizon League Tournament, which will be held at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio.? The Raiders open the tournament against #5 seed and host Youngstown State on Wednesday at 3:00.
