The Wright State women's basketball team could not get on track offensively Sunday, shooting just 22 percent as the Raiders fell to Purdue 70-46 in the BTI championship game in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Six straight points, four coming from Tay'ler Mingo, erased an early 4-0 deficit and gave the Raiders the lead, but it turned out to be only one for WSU on the day as the Boilermakers answered with 11 unanswered points.
Purdue shot 40 percent from the field in the first half overall and was two for four from three-point range while Wright State hit for just 22 percent and missed all eight of its attempts from behind the arc.
The Boilermakers maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way, with the closest margin being 33-21 in the early stages of the second half.
WSU shot 22 percent for the game overall and made one of 16 three-pointers while Purdue shot 43 percent for the contest.
Mingo led the Raiders with 23 points while Tayler Stanton collected a career-high 19 rebounds. Mingo was named to the All-Tournament Team as she scored 70 points in three games with 16 assists, 11 steals and nine rebounds.
Wright State (8-3) returns to action after Christmas break on Monday, December 29, as the Raiders host Chicago State at 7:00.
