A Peguy Ngatcha goal late in the first half proved to be the difference as the Wright State men's soccer team picked up a 1-0 Horizon League win at Oakland Saturday night.
Ngatcha tallied the game-winner at the 40:56 mark of the first half as the senior forward connected on a shot from 20 yards out for his ninth goal of the season. Senior forward Eric Lynch was credited with the assist, his fifth of the year.
The Raider defense made that 1-0 lead stand the rest of the way. Senior goalkeeper Will Lukowski, in his first action of the season, recorded the shutout, picking up a save in the process.
WSU won the match despite Oakland holding a 14-11 shot advantage.
Wright State (7-4-1, 3-1-1 Horizon) heads back out on the road on Tuesday, October 11, with a 6:00 nonleague match at Virginia Tech.
