Wright State hit 19 of 34 shots in the opening 20 minutes, including six of 15 from three-point range, and made 16 of 20 free throws. UDM, meanwhile, shot 52 percent from the field, was five of 14 from three and just three of six at the foul line.
The Titans would get no closer than 16 in the second half as WSU's largest lead was 84-56 following a Steven Davis three with 8:25 remaining.
The Raiders shot 49 percent overall, including 11 of 27 from three, and made 33 of 45 foul shots. Wright State also led in points in the paint (32-18), points off of turnovers (21-11) and second chance points (8-2).
Detroit Mercy shot 48 percent from the field altogether, 13 of 32 from behind the arc, and hit 17 of 25 free throws.
All five WSU starters scored in double figures, led by Davis with 27 along with eight rebounds. Justin Mitchell had 22 to go with seven rebounds and seven assists, Benzinger 22 with nine rebounds and five assists, Mike La Tulip 13 points and Mark Alstork 11 points and five assists.
