Women's Soccer Secures 1-0 Victory at UIC

The Wright State women's soccer team (10-7, 5-3) moves up the Horizon League standings with a 1-0 victory at UIC (6-12, 4-4) on Saturday evening.

First Half Highlights

In an even half, the Flames outshot the Raiders by a count of five to three but only one of the Flames shots ended up on goal compared to two by the Raiders.  Both goalkeepers looked to continue the clean sheet into the second half.

Second Half Highlights

In the 55th minute of the game, the Raiders solvde the Flames defense when junior midfielder Mattie Cutts found the back of the net with a goal on a header off a rebound.  For Cutts, it was her fourth goal on the season, and marked a goal in consecutive games.   The shutout was the third in four games for sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Jewell, who ended the game with two saves.  The Flames held a 15 to 6 shot differential but only two of those shots were on goal.  The Raiders were more efficient, hitting six shots with four of them on goal.
