The Wright State women's soccer team (10-7, 5-3) moves up the Horizon League standings with a 1-0 victory at UIC (6-12, 4-4) on Saturday evening.

In an even half, the Flames outshot the Raiders by a count of five to three but only one of the Flames shots ended up on goal compared to two by the Raiders. Both goalkeepers looked to continue the clean sheet into the second half.

th minute of the game, the Raiders solvde the Flames defense when junior midfielder
Mattie Cutts found the back of the net with a goal on a header off a rebound. For Cutts, it was her fourth goal on the season, and marked a goal in consecutive games. The shutout was the third in four games for sophomore goalkeeper
Maddie Jewell, who ended the game with two saves. The Flames held a 15 to 6 shot differential but only two of those shots were on goal. The Raiders were more efficient, hitting six shots with four of them on goal.

Wright State (10-7, 5-3) heads to Detroit (4-12-1, 1-7) for the regular-season finale on Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm. The Raiders have locked up a spot in the Horizon League tournament, but seeding will come down to the final matches of the season.
Quarterfinals for the Horizon League Championship will take place on Monday, October 30 with the Semi-Finals and Finals on November 2 and 4.
