The Wright State women's soccer team ended its regular season with a 1-0 win at Detroit Mercy Friday afternoon. Wright State is now 11-7, 6-3.
First Half Highlights
In a tight, hard fought first 45 minutes, the team exchanged defensive looks until junior
Kayla Schrubb picked up her third goal of the season on a header at 31:15. The goal came off a corner with the assists going
Sarah Colvin and
Erin Graefen. The Titans led WSU 10-4 on shots, but only two of UDM's shots were on goal as Wright State goalie
Maddie Jewell stopped both.
Second Half Highlights
Schrubb's goal held up as both teams had chances. Wright State finished with 12 shots overall and Titans had 15, though UDM had none on goal in the second half. Schrubb and
Jordyne Helinski each had three shots to lead the Raiders.
Up Next
The Raiders will play in the Horizon League Tournament Monday. Wright State will be the number four seed and host number five UIC Monday at 7 pm. The winner will play number two seed Northern Kentucky Thursday at 5 pm at Milwaukee in the semifinals. Finals will be Saturday in Milwaukee.
