The Wright State men's basketball team defeated Tiffin 73-49 Monday night at WSU's Nutter Center.
First Half Highlights
Wright State took the early lead on a three-point jumper from
Mark Hughes. The Raiders didn't look back as freshman
Everett Winchester had 10 points and four rebounds at the end of the first 20 minutes.Â
Justin Mitchell collected nine points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals as the WSU shot 45.5% from the field and outrebounded the Dragons 16-15, forcing 15 turnovers.
Second Half Highlights
Senior
Grant Benzinger sat on six points from the first half, needing three more to nail his 1,000 point. He got it at 13:50 on a three pointer. Four Raiders ended in double figures, led by Winchester's 18 points with seven boards. Mitchell had 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Benzinger scored two more points to finish with 11 and freshman
Jaylon Hall had 12 points. WSU outscored Tiffin 44-24 in the paint and 23-11 off turnovers. The Raiders ended with a 41-31 rebound margin and collected 23 turnovers.
Next Up
The Raiders will host a three-day tournament Friday through Sunday. Wright State plays Gardner-Webb Friday at 7 pm, Jacksonville Saturday at 5 pm and Fairfield Sunday at 3:30 pm.
