Baseball Completes Milwaukee Series Sweep With Shutout

For the second straight weekend, the Wright State baseball team completed a three-game Horizon League series sweep at Nischwitz Stadium, this time against Milwaukee with a 4-0 decision Saturday afternoon.

All of the game's scoring came in the bottom of the third.  Brandon Giltrow reached on an infield hit and Matt Morrow followed with a double to right center to put runners at second and third.  JD Orr then singled to right to drive in Giltrow and Morrow and rounded the bases with the third run as the ball got by the right fielder.

The final run of the inning came as Alex Alders walked, went to third on a Gabe Snyder hit to right and scored as Seth Gray singled through the left side of the infield.

Zane Collins (3-2) was brilliant in his seven innings on the mound, allowing just two singles and a walk while striking out seven in facing just five batters over the minimum.  Derek Hendrixson pitched the final two innings, striking out one.

At the plate, Gray had three hits while Morrow had two.

Wright State (15-7, 6-0 Horizon) hits the road for the first time in league play next weekend with a three-game set at Oakland, starting with a single game on Friday, March 31, at 3:00.
