Baseball Falls at Kentucky

The Wright State baseball team only trailed Kentucky 4-0 after five innings before the Wildcats tallied 11 runs in a two-inning span en route to a 15-1 decision Tuesday afternoon in Lexington.

Kentucky scored a run in the first and three more in the second, but the margin remained 4-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth.  The Wildcats, though, scored six in the sixth and five in the seventh to break the game open.

The Raiders posted their lone run in the seventh.  Adrian Marquez led off with an infield single and, one out later, Kevin Whatley walked and Brandon Giltrow had a hit to center to load the bases.  Matt Morrow was then hit by a pitch to force in Marquez with the run.

Morrow and Gabe Snyder each had a double for WSU.

Wright State (7-5) has made changes to its weekend schedule due to a forecast of cold and possibly snow on Saturday and Sunday.  The Raiders will host Ohio (noon) and Dayton (4:00) on Thursday, March 9, followed by another matchup with Ohio (3:00) on Friday, March 10.
