The Wright State volleyball team defeated Louisiana 3-0 this evening (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) in their second match at the Chicago State Invitational.
The Raiders posted 44 kills in the match and were led offensively by senior outside hitter
Katie Klusman with 15 kills. Senior middle blocker
Megan Hopkins recorded nine kills for a solid .318 hitting percentage overall. Newcomers
Celia Powers and
Abby Barcus also contributed to the Raiders success at the net this evening. Powers posted eight kills for a .250 hitting percentage while
Abby Barcus posted seven kills for a .333 hitting percentage. The Raiders were led defensively by seniors
Jessie Thornton and
Megan Hopkins. Thornton picked up 13 digs for the Raiders while Hopkins posted four blocks at the net. After winning both matches so far in the tournament 3-0, the Raiders will look to defeat Chicago State tomorrow and take home their first tournament title of the 2017 season.
