Wright State women's soccer cruised to a 5-0 victory over non-conference opponent Capital University on Sunday evening at WSU's Alumni Field.
First Half Highlights
After multiple corner kick opportunities early on for the Raiders, senior
Sarah Colvin sent a perfectly placed corner kick near the six-yard line as sophomore defender
Andrea Gomez charged the goal knocking the ball into the back of the net to give the Raiders, their first goal of the evening. The remainder of the first half saw plenty of opportunities for the Raiders but the half ended 1-0.
Second Half Highlights
The Raiders found the goal early and often in the second half. Eight minutes into the half,
Aaliyah Patten scored her second goal of the season with an assist from Colvin. Two minutes later, Patten returned the favor to Colvin for her fourth goal of the season. Sophomore
Livi Raflik got in on the action in the 72nd minute of the game for her first career goal as a Raider, with the assist coming from
Kayla Schrubb. Finishing off the scoring minutes later, freshmen
Destiny Johnson found the back of the net, also scoring her first career goal.
Maddie Jewell and
Miranda Thomas combined for the shutout, the Raiders fifth of the season.
