The Wright State volleyball team defeated UMKC 3-1 this morning (20-25, 27-25, 26-24, 25-18) in their second match at the SIUE Cougar Classic.
First Set Highlights
The score remained close until the Roos pulled away from the Raiders after being tied 19-19. The Raiders had nine kills while UMKC finished with 15 kills.
Second Set Highlights
Wright State and UMKC battled back and forth trading points throughout the set. Senior
Katie Klusman led the set with seven kills while freshman
Celia Powers posted five kills. With the set tied at 25-25, junior middle blocker

Maddie Lohmeier blocked UMKC's outside hitter, Alicia Harrington, pulling them within one point from winning the set. Senior
Katie Klusman earned the Raiders their final point to close the set with a service ace.
Third Set Highlights
UMKC led for the majority of the set until senior
Megan Hopkins helped Wright State take their first lead of the set with a kill to put them up 17-16. The Raiders had another exciting finish with two unanswered points that were earned by a kill from freshman
Abby Barcus and a service ace from sophomore
Hannah Colvin. Wright State posted a match high of 17 kills in the win.
Fourth Set Highlights
The Raiders kept a steady lead to win in the fourth set. Klusman led WSU overall with 19 kills and 17 digs while freshman middle blocker
Celia Powers and freshman middle blocker Teddie Sauer both led the Raiders with seven blocks each.
