The Wright State volleyball team defeated Tennessee Tech 3-1 tonight (25-17, 22-25, 29-27, 25-15) in their second match of Wright State's Holiday Inn Invitational.
First Set Highlights
Tennessee Tech started off the first set with the first kill but the Raiders were ready to go and answered right back with a powerful kill on the right side by freshman

Rachel Kremer helped the Raiders take their first lead of the game with a service ace that put them up 2-1. The Raiders pulled ahead with a 6-1 run, putting them up 8-4 early in the game with the momentum on their side. The Raiders came out of a timeout fired up and slammed down four kills on a 4-1 run, taking the score to 19-14. Sophomore
Hannah Colvin got a service ace to take the score to 23-16 before senior outside hitter
Katie Klusman produced the final kill to win the first set. Powers led the offensive attack with five kills for a .833 hitting percentage while freshman
Abby Barcus was right behind with four kills for a .429 hitting percentage. Wright State finished the first set with a strong .432 hitting percentage as a team.
Second Set Highlights
Tennessee Tech started the second game with a service ace but the Raiders answered back quickly as middle blocker
Megan Hopkins slammed down the first kill of the set. Both teams battled back-and-forth keeping the score close with powerful kills and big blocks. Wright State took their first timeout with Tennessee Tech in the lead at 10-7. After the timeout, the teams battled back and forth with Wright State scoring seven points while Tennessee Tech answered back scoring five points, putting them up by only one point with the score at 15-14. Tennessee Tech took a timeout at 15-14 and came out of the break with the momentum in their favor, going on a 3-0 run. Tennessee Tech took a timeout after the Raiders went on a 3-0 run to bring the score within three points at 22-19. Third Set Highlights.
The Raiders started the third set with back-to-back kills from Hopkins and Powers before Tennessee Tech's Jessica Oliver responded with a kill to put the score at 2-1. The teams were tied at 4-4 before the Raiders went on a 4-0 run to put them in the lead 8-4. The run forced Tennessee Tech to take the first timeout of the set. Maddie Lohmeier tallied her first kill of the set, leading the Raiders on a 4-1 run putting the Raiders in the lead at 12-6. Both teams battled back-and-forth with Wright State scoring three points and Tennessee Tech Scoring five points to make the score 15-10 before Wright State called a timeout. The Raiders came out of the timeout with the momentum on their side and quickly took the lead to 20-14 after a huge kill on the outside from Klusman. Tennessee Tech battled back with a 5-2 run taking the score to 22-19 before Wright State called a timeout. Coming out of the timeout Tennessee Tech battled back to tie the score three separate times at 24-24, 25-25, and once again at 26-26. A huge right side block from Lohmeier and Hopkins put the Raiders up 28-27 before Klusman ended the third set with a kill from the outside to end the match 29-27. Both teams had 16 kills in the set for .143 hitting percentages. Seniors Klusman and Hopkins led the Raiders with four kills each in the third set.
Fourth Set Highlights
Wright State started the fourth set with the momentum, scoring the first two points of the set. Tennessee Tech was able to fight back and take their first lead of the game at 6-5. Tennessee Tech pulled farther ahead after a 4-1 run before Wright State took a timeout at 10-6. Wright State came out of the timeout with the momentum on their side and quickly tied the game at 11-11 forcing Tennessee Tech to take a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, senior Kremer had back-to-back service aces to take Wright State's lead to 15-13. The Raiders grew their lead quickly to 21-13 with the help of four kills from Klusman. Hopkins led her team to the win with a pair of kills to close the set at 25-15. Klusman led the Raiders offense with 23 kills for a .358 hitting percentage, a season high for the senior.

The Raiders will play tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the final match of the Holiday Inn Invitational against West Virginia.
