The Wright State women's basketball team was down 30-24 but came back strong for a 60-50 win at home over UIC. Senior
Chelsea Welch led the way with 26 points and five steals. The Raiders came up big in the second half, taking the lead for good with 1:32 remaining in the third quarter. Wright State is now 15-4 and 6-1.

- The Raiders came out slow and the Flames took advantage of it with a 14-11 lead after the first quarter.

- No other Raider scored in double figures as Mackenzie Taylor and Symone Simmons each finished with nine points.

- UIC posted 20 turnovers forced by 11 Raider steals. WSU had only nine turnovers.
- The Raiders shot 32.2% from the field for the game as the Flames shot 36.5%.

"I want my team to recognize that I don't care what your record is, we are in conference play and everyone will play very, very hard. Chelsea's versatility is what makes her so special. We are similar in terms of style of play to IUPUI, and we will see which team can recover and makes shots in a couple days."
