Raiders Fall 3-2

Down two sets to start the match, the Wright State volleyball team came back to force a crucial fifth set but were unable to finish the win, falling in a rare mid-week Horizon League match 3-2 by scores of 25-23, 25-13, 18-25, 18-25 and 15-13.

The Raiders were led by three with double figure kills: Celia Powers 14, Teddie Sauer 12 and Alannah Lemming 10. Lainey Stephenson collected 43 assists and 12 digs with a career-high seven kills as Jenna Story had 16 digs.  Lemming had seven blocks.  WSU is now 9-8 and 1-4 as Oakland goes to 6-10 and 2-3.

Second Set
The Grizzlies jumped to early leads, including 19-8 as they cruised to a 25-13 victory.  OU hit .520 with 15 kills as they had six blocks to just one for WSU.  Sauer finished with three kills.

Fourth Set
This set stayed close as WSU started to pull away with leads of 9-6, 15-11 and 19-12, causing Oakland to use two timeouts.  The Raiders tied the match with a 25-18 win.  Wright State had 12 kills to just none for Oakland as WSU had three more aces.  The kills were spread around with Powers leading with four.

Fifth Set
Another tight set saw the score bounce back and forth as OU took a 10-7 when WSU took a timeout.  The Raiders cut the lead to 11-10, making Oakland to call a timeout.  Down 13-11, WSU called a timeout but Oakland posted the 15-13.  WSU had eight team kills to seven for OU.  Lemming, Powers and Sauer each ended with two kills.
