PRESEASON POLLS LIKE THE RAIDERS

Six major publications and web sites like Wright State's chances heading into the 2018-19 season. Five picked the Raiders to win this year's Horizon League, while the sixth predicted WSU to finish in second place.
Each poll had WSU, Northern Kentucky and UIC in its top three, with Green Bay, Oakland and IUPUI jostling for the next three spots. The bottom four spots will be important this year as just the top eight teams will advance to play in Motor City Madness in March.
Sophomore Loudon Love was named in all six preseason first teams after being named the Freshman of the Year and second team last season as he averaged 12.9 points and 9.7 rebounds. Senior Mark Hughes, a Horizon League defensive team member a year ago, was named by Lindy's to the first team as well as the second team by Athlon and three-man-weave.com. While the Horizon League only recognizes the Freshman of the Year, Blue Ribbon named WSU's Bill Wampler, a junior transfer from Drake, as the Newcomer of the Year. Wampler was also named to the newcomer team by three-man-weave.com.
The Raiders won a record 25 games last year as they advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. Love and Hughes return along with starters Cole Gentry and Parker Ernsthausen. Wright State will open the regular season with Western Carolina on November 7 at home. Season tickets and mini-packs are on sale now. Ticket information can be found at www.WSURaiderTix.com.
The official pre-season league poll is due out Oct. 17 and will include all-league teams as predicted by the media, head coaches and sports information directors.
