#15 @WSU_Mens_Soccer Continues Horizon League Dominance With Win Saturday

The 15th ranked Wright State men's soccer team returned to Horizon League action Saturday when it traveled to Detroit Mercy for an afternoon tilt. The Raiders jumped out to a big lead early, and were able to hang on for the win, maintaining their unbeaten record on the year.

First Half
The Raiders dominated the first half of play, controlling the majority of possession and not allowing a single shot for the Titans. The Raiders launched seven shots toward the Titans net, four of which were on goal. Deri Corfe opened the scoring in the match in the 28th minute, when his long shot from outside the box beat Titans keeper Devin Mendez inside the far post to put the Raiders on top 1-0. Almost exactly 10 minutes later, Stefan Rokvic took a cross in the box, and his shot through traffic found the back of the net to give the green and gold a two goal advantage headed into the half.

Second Half
Rokvic wasted no time getting the Raiders going in the second half, netting his second goal of the match less than three minutes into half number two. Alec Philippe netted his ninth goal of the season just over two minutes later, and the Raiders were seemingly in control of the match at 4-0. The Titans would not go down without a fight, however. Just three minutes after Philippe's goal, Detroit opened its scoring with a 53rd minute goal. The Titans would add another goal on a penalty kick in the 73rd minute, but simply ran out of time, and the Raiders would go on to win the match 4-2.

Up Next
The Raiders (8-0-1, 3-0 Horizon) will travel to Charlottesville, Virginia on Tuesday to face off against the 11th ranked Cavaliers of Virginia in a non-conference tilt, before returning to Horizon League play Saturday when the UIC Flames come to Alumni Field during Wright State Homecoming.
