Former Wright State women's basketball player Chelsea Welch has signed with professional team CAB Madeira (Liga Feminina) in Portugal.
"I'm excited to start this new chapter of my life, but I wouldn't have gotten here without all the coaches I've had, my teammates, and my supportive family," Welch said.
The guard graduated last spring after playing two seasons for the Raiders, averaging 19.6 points and scoring 1,333 points in 68 games to rank sixth on the all-time scoring list. She was named the Horizon League Player of the Year and first team in 2018 and led WSU to a two-year 48-20 record as the Raiders appeared in back-to-back WNITs. As a graduate of Kettering (OH) Fairmont High School, Welch posted her career-high 36 points at #23 Missouri early last season.
