The Wright State women's basketball team will host the UIC Flames in the Nutter Center on Thursday, January 31st. The game is scheduled to tipoff at 7:00pm.
Wright State
The Raiders (16-5, 8-1) are coming off of a 78-59 win against the Detroit Mercy Flames on Sunday afternoon. During the game, Symone Simmons set Wright State's all-time rebound record of 897 which has been held by Lori Collins since 1995. Mackenzie Taylor led all players with 16 points, Symone Simmons pulled in a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Emily Vogelpohl tallied 12 points, and Michal Miller added 10 points in the Raiders' effort.
Michal Miller leads the Raiders on offense with an average of 13.3 and Mackenzie Miller is just behind in scoring with an average of 12.5 each outing. Coming off of the bench in relief, Angel Baker is third on the team in scoring with a 9.8 average. Symone Simmons leads Wright State in rebounds with 8.8 hauls each game and Tyler Frierson is second on the team with 7.4 boards.
UIC
The Flames (3-17, 1-8) are heading into the Nutter Center off of a 53-72 loss against the Milwaukee Panthers. In the game, Brittany Byrd led all players with 22 points in the loss.
On the season, senior guard Brittany Byrd leads all Flames players in scoring with an average of 15.1 per game. Byrd currently stands third in scoring average in the Horizon League. Sophomore forward Jada Nneji leads the Flames in rebounds (6.6) and also can boast 60 blocks on the season. Nneji's number of blocks is good for first in the Horizon League, 12 better than the player in the the second position.
