@WSU_MBB Falls at Detroit Mercy

The Wright State men's basketball team had trouble in the second half as Detroit Mercy pulled away Thursday night, winning 79-58 in the Motor City.

The Raiders were led by Loudon Love's 15 and Mark Hughes' 13 points.  Bill Wampler added 11 as Cole Gentry ended with nine.  Hughes grabbed six boards to top WSU with Love, Gentry, Wampler and Malachi Smith each finishing with five rebounds. 

First Half
The Raiders jumped to a 14-10 lead as Love accounted for half of WSU's points.  Wright State scored five unanswered points to lead 19-10 at the 12:00 timeout.  The Titans came back to lead 31-27 late in the half, heading to the locker room up 34-27.  Love had 11 points as he went five-for-five from the field.  Hughes added eight points and three steals with two points from four others.  Wampler led the Raiders with four rebounds.

Second Half
The Titans outscored the Raiders in the second half 45-31, and were led by Antoine Davis' 49 points on 10 three pointers overall. WSU shot 32% in the final 20 minutes, connecting on just two three pointers.

Next Up
The Raiders stay in the Detroit area to play at Oakland Saturday at 3:00 PM.  The Grizzlies defeated Northern Kentucky Thursday night 76-74 and have a record of 7-9, 3-0.

The Wright State men's and women's Coaches Shows will return Jan. 7 at Flyboys Deli in the Fairfield Mall.  Men's head coach Scott Nagy will be on at 6 pm.  Women's coach Katrina Merriweather will be on at 5:30 pm.  Fans can come by for delicious food or tune in WONE, 980 AM or use the iHeart App.  It will also be streamed live through wsuraiders.com.
