The Raiders, 8-9 and 2-2, are coming off a solid win at Oakland 89-73 last Saturday afternoon.  Shooting 55% from the field in the second half as a team, Loudon Love led the way with his seventh double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Junior Cole Gentry pitched in 22 points, and Bill Wampler had 19 points, 15 in the final 20 minutes.  WSU outrebounded the Grizzlies 38-29 as OU suffered its first Horizon League loss.  The 89 points were the most scored by a WSU team on the road since Jan. 2, 2002 when they scored 90 in double overtime at Butler.  It is the most scored in a regulation game on the road since scoring 100 at UIC on Jan. 4, 1999.  WSU won both games.

Wampler has the team best 15.0 points per game as Gentry holds a 14.4 average.  Love and Mark Hughes average 13.8 and 10.0.  WSU leads overall 23-10 and 4-3 since NKU joined the Horizon League, including winning both games last season: 84-81 on January 11, 2018 at Northern Kentucky and 69-67 on February 16 in Dayton.  Gentry has hit 49 of 52 free throws on the year to sit atop the Horizon League and fourth nationally.

Northern Kentucky
The Norse, 13-4 and 3-1, also split at the Detroit area schools, losing at Oakland 76-74 and winning at Detroit Mercy 95-73.  Six NKU players scored in double figures against the Titans, led by Drew McDonald with 23 points and Tyler Sharpe with 20 points.

McDonald, a teammate of Wampler's on this summer's FISU America's gold medal winning USA Team, ranks fourth in the Horizon League and leads the Norse with his 18.6 points while his 10.0 rebounds per game leads the league and the team.  NKU, participants in the 2018 NIT and Horizon League regular-season champions, was picked to finish second this season in the preseason poll while McDonald was tabbed as the preseason player of the year and Jalen Tate was selected to the second team.
