Johnson's two goals lift Raiders past Norse

Destiny Johnson scored a pair of second half goals on Wednesday night as the Wright State women's soccer team went on the road for a 3-1 Horizon League victory over Northern Kentucky.

The win improves the Raiders to 7-2-2 on the season and 2-1 in HL play, while Northern Kentucky falls to 4-6 and 1-2 in conference action.

With the Raiders trailing after Shawna Zaken's 29th minute goal gave the hosts the lead, Jordyne Helinski responded in the 33rd minute to tie the match heading into the halftime break. Helinski's shot was one of two Wright State shots in the opening 45 minutes and the only one that was on net.

The game remained tied late into the second half before Johnson connected on her first goal to give Wright State the lead in the 81st minute off an assist from Helinski. Johnson followed up that score in the closing minutes as she tacked on a final goal in the 87th minute to seal the win.
