The Wright State volleyball team notched its 12th sweep of the season as the Raiders went on the road and swept Youngstown State 3-0 with set scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-11. The Raiders now get set to close the regular season with a visit to Oakland on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. before finding out how the Horizon League final standings shake out and what the tournament seedings will be.
With one regular season match remaining, Wright State is tied atop the Horizon League standings at 12-3 with Green Bay while Milwaukee sits one game back at 11-4 in conference action. Green Bay and Milwaukee face each other on Saturday afternoon.
On Friday night, Wright State led the match in all columns: kills, blocks, digs, assists and service aces. The two middles
Teddie Sauer and
Nyssa Baker led the Raiders with 11 kills each. Backer committed zero errors from 13 attempts which made for a .846 hitting percentage. Sauer only committed two errors from 20 attempts which made for a .450 hitting percentage.
Taylor Gibson was next up with seven kills, while
Megan Alders contributed five kills and
Celia Powers added four kills.
Lainey Stephenson led the match with 34 assists and added six digs.
Jenna Story led the match with 22 digs and added two assists. Powers added 11 digs to the combined total of 57 digs for the match while Sauer added two solo blocks at the frontline of defense and Baker added one.

"We were able to get both of our middles going offensively tonight - Teddie and Nyssa both had a great match. Our ball control and defense was focused and disciplined. It's not always easy to feel fresh on the road and it was a great win to start the weekend."
Set 1
The Raiders start the match off with a kill from Baker and lead 4-2 as Baker added her second kill and Alders knocked down her first. Wright State kept their lead as it reached 10 points and lead by five points. Youngstown State took its first timeout as the score reached 14-7.
Hannah Colvin tallied four service aces as the Raiders reached the red zone from a block by Sauer. Youngstown State took its second timeout when the score was 20-10. Sauer knocked a kill down for the Raiders to reach set point leading by seven points. Gibson finished the set when she knocked down the last kill and Wright State won 25-17.
Set 2
Alders knocked down two kills early for Wright State to take the first lead and Sauer served up an ace to extend the lead to 6-3. Baker added a kill for the Raiders to reach 10 points, leading by five. Stephenson knocked down a kill for the score to reach 14-7 and the Raiders went on a five point run and went into the media timeout at 15-7. Sauer knocked down two kills in a row as the score reached 18-9 and Youngstown State struggled to make serves as it attempted to shorten the deficit.
Ellee Ruskaup served an ace for Wright State to reach the red zone and Baker added set point before an error from Youngstown gave the Raiders a 25-11 set win.
Set 3
Youngstown State came out scoring the first two points of the set until Baker stopped them with her eighth kill of the night. Gibson knocked down a kill for Wright State to reach 10 points, leading Youngstown State by three points. Wright State went on a five-point run to extend its lead and make the score 18-10. Youngstown State took its first timeout and then came out of it scoring the next point to shorten the deficit to seven. Sauer knocked down a kill for the Raiders to reach the red zone leading by seven points. The Penguins attempted to fight back but the Raiders reached match point at 24-16. Baker finished the match with a kill and Wright State won 25-17.
