
Wright State Set for NCAA Championship, Notre Dame

The Wright State men's soccer team will step into the Raider record books on Thursday night as they take on Notre Dame in the program's first NCAA Championship appearance. Match time is set for 7 p.m. from South Bend, Indiana.

Thursday's match will be the sixth all-time between Wright State and Notre Dame, but the first since September 27, 1987 when the Raiders and Fighting Irish played to a 1-1 draw in Dayton.
The Raiders enter their first NCAA Championship on the heels of winning the Horizon League Championship for the first time last Saturday night, as Jackson Dietrich's attempt in the shootout found the back of the net and gave Wright State its first league title.
Senior Deri Corfe leads the Raiders with 31 points on the season, including a team-high 12 goals, followed by fellow seniors Stefan Rokvic (22 points, 9 goals) and Jackson Deitrich (19 points, 6 goals) and sophomore Ids Hannema (16 points, 7 goals). In net, senior Joel Sundell has logged over 1600 minutes this season, recording 77 saves – 75 percent of his total shots faced, while allowing 1.40 goals per match against him.
As a team this season, Wright State is averaging 2.05 goals per contest and 15.5 shots per match. The Raiders have put 45 percent of their shot attempts on goal this season, creating pressure on the opposing team's keeper.
