Wampler named Gulf Coast Showcase All-Tournament

After three double-digit games in which he averaged just shy of 19 points per contest, Wright State senior Bill Wampler was named to the Gulf Coast Showcase All-Tournament Team.

In the opening game of the week against Weber State, Wampler scored the first 12 points of the night for Wright State, while his 27 points were a season-high and two off his career-best as he reached the 1,000-point mark for his career. Wampler added a 15-point game against La Salle and scored 14 points in the win over Miami to bring his three-game total to 56 points, an 18.67 point/game average. He also added a combined 11 rebounds and eight assists to his Florida stat line.

For the season, Wampler is averaging 15.4 points per game over eight contests, shooting at a 40 percent rate overall and 36.5 percent from three-point range while averaging 30.3 minutes a night. Wampler and the Raiders are back at home on Tuesday night as they welcome Western Kentucky to the Nutter Center for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
