The Wright State women's basketball team battled against Kansas all afternoon before the Jayhawks pulled away over the final 10 minutes to hand the Raiders a 74-63 loss on Friday in the first of two games in Boca Raton, Florida.

The Raiders are right back at in on Friday, taking on Loyola Maryland at 11 a.m.

Tied at 48-all entering the fourth quarter, Kansas (6-0) outscored the Raiders (2-2) 26-15 in the final frame to make the difference after Wright State led at the end of the first quarter and had a four-point lead at the halftime break.

The Raiders had a four-point lead 3:30 into the third quarter, but Kansas went on a quick 6-0 run to give the Jayhawks their first lead at 39-37 with 4:25 left in the quarter. Kansas used an 11-2 run to open the fourth quarter to open up what had been a back-and-forth game.

Angel Baker finished with a game-high 23 points for the Raiders, adding three assists, two rebounds and a steal. Michal Miller scored 16 points of her own as the other Wright State player to finish in double figures scoring, while Anisja Harris tallied eight points off the bench. Alexis Stover and Tyler Frierson each contributed six points, while Frierson and Shamarre Hale each pulled down 11 rebounds to lead both sides.

The Raiders shot 37.9 percent for the game, while Kansas finished the afternoon shooting 42.1 percent. Wright State hit 10 three-pointers, but was just 3-for-8 from the free throw stripe as Kansas went to the line 33 times (21-for-33, 64%).

Wright State won the battle on the boards, outrebounding Kansas 46-37 overall while pulling down more rebounds on both the offensive and defensive glass, while Kansas forced 23 Raider turnovers, converting those to 25 points.
